Welcome to Year 5!
Welcome to Year 5, a year where children build confidently on the strong foundations established in Year 4 and begin to tackle more complex learning. Pupils are encouraged to think critically, work independently and apply their skills across a broad and challenging curriculum. In Year 5, there is a greater emphasis on depth of understanding in reading, writing and mathematics, alongside developing reasoning, problem-solving and collaborative skills. Through high expectations and supportive teaching, children grow in confidence and resilience, preparing them well for the increased responsibility and challenges of upper Key Stage 2.
